M2 Safety Management is the only uniquely certified partner in first-responder mental health services who deliver a unique combination of military, fire services, medic, business, and professional psychological training techniques that work to empower companies to help responders self-manage their mental health. Miguel Ongay
Melissa Burnell
Miguel is an instructor with over 30 years of experience in leadership training for the fire service and our nation’s Armed Forces. He is highly motivated by life’s experiences and brings a unique real life perspective into active leadership. Miguel has held every position in the fire service and believes in leading by example. Putting people first and leading his co-workers by example are his passion. He has traveled all over the world teaching leadership and bringing a unique insight into his classes. His practical wisdom and understanding of how leaders lead; or most importantly, don’t lead, enables him to help improve the leadership abilities of his students and their organizations.
Melissa is an instructor with over 15 years of experience working with business owners and leaders to grow their business and is passionate about inspiring mental wellness. With a background in business development and leadership in the financial field, she brings to instructing both practical wisdom and a deep understanding of human behavior in the workplace. Her passion is in improving the lives of individuals through overall mental health wellness and helping leaders with mental health wellness awareness and programs within their organizations. Melissa is a licensed mental health therapist and presents unique perspectives tailored to organization culture.
Melissa’s cultural competence in first responder and veteran mental health gives her a unique perspective on how to deliver quality training to be proactive in mental wellness.
